Dishoek is the ideal spot where you can combine sun, sea and sand with delicious gastronomy and a little culture. For her mini break, Kelly of The House of Kelly. Stayed with her family and parents at Largo Noordzee Résidence Dishoek in The Ruyter Deluxe Outdoor 8 Villa. You can read her story below.
Last week Gerben had some annual leave, so we thought it would be nice to head off somewhere all together. We decided on a mini break in Zeeland. We booked Largo Dishoek. The weather looked promising, which made us look forward to it all the more. So, the day came a week ago on Friday when we packed our bags and headed to Zeeland.
We opted for Largo Dishoek, and booked the Ruyter Deluxe Outdoor villa for 8 people. 8? Yup, we were thrilled as my parents were joining us for the weekend too. Downstairs we had a bedroom and bathroom, on the 1st floor two bedrooms, each with an en suite and on the 2nd floor a large bedroom, also with an en suite. The kids each had their own room, which was a real treat. Another plus was that all the beds were already made up when we arrived. Another treat! Luxury shampoo, soap, etc. sets and towel bundles were also in every bathroom. So lovely! And hats off to how spotlessly clean the villa was. Everything looked exceptionally neat and tidy!
We were settling in when the doorbell rang … two highchairs were on the doorstep. Very useful! And before we knew it, this absolutely delicious aperitif board, including drinks, was delivered! Lovely! The park has a food & drink service where you can order this in advance, making your arrival all the more perfect.
We went to the beach! The girls were ready to go at 06:00 already. Hihi! We ambled across the park, across the dunes and found ourselves on the beach in just a couple of minutes. We were incredibly lucky with the weather, which meant we could make the most of the beach. We all really felt that holiday feeling.
Then it was time for Friday afternoon drinks, cheers! We’d brought the Pizzarette oven from home along, and the kitchen was equipped with plenty of dishes, plates etc.. And so we all ate delicious pizzas together in our fantastic villa. Once the kids were tucked up in bed, a drink or two more were poured, as we settled down to playing a board game with great hilarity.
Following a wonderful night’s sleep, at the breakfast table, we decided to head south. There are just so many delightful sights in the local vicinity. We opted for Middelburg! We jumped in the car and were there 10 minutes later. We had a lovely afternoon. Ice creams, a merry-go-round, and maybe a bit of shopping too.;)
After our fantastic day out, we headed back to the villa. We all freshened up to head out for dinner on the beach. We strolled across the dunes, and onto the beach in no time at all, to the beach diner tent. With a drink in hand, watching the sun set whilst enjoying scrumptious food. The ultimate holiday feeling!
The next day we enjoyed another day on the beach, ate fish & chips at the park and then packed our bags for our return home.
